Stellar IT Solutions LLC is seeking a HIL Test Engineer for EV charging systems in Long Beach, CA. The role focuses on developing and maintaining HIL test benches, automating test cases, and integrating tests with CI/CD workflows.

The candidate will verify charging operations, fault handling, and networks, while collaborating with power electronics and software teams to ensure traceability to requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of EV charging systems, vehicle control systems and power-electronics fundamentals.
• Experience developing and executing tests for embedded software or vehicle electronics.
• Comfortable using oscilloscope and basic probing tools for debugging purposes.
• Experience with HIL and real-time testing software tools such as Vector, Typhoon, NI preferred.
• Familiarity with vehicle networks such as CAN, CAN FD, or Ethernet.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming for test automation (Python, CAPL, MATLAB).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HIL test benches for EV charging systems, vehicle control modules, and related networks.
• Create automated test sequences covering operating conditions, faults, and safety requirements.
• Execute automated HIL tests, analyze results, document defects, and report to teams.
• Verify charging operation under AC/DC, connector states, power limits, fault handling, recovery.
• Test interfaces between vehicle systems and charging equipment, including protocols and network messages.
• Perform eFuse and HSD functional/fault testing under fault conditions and analyze behavior.
• Integrate hardware, models, simulation environments, and test software.
• Support traceability, coverage reporting, regression testing, and release readiness.
• Improve test benches, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Follow engineering, electrical safety, cybersecurity, and quality processes.
