Job summary

Swarm Aero in the United States is seeking an engineer to own hardware-in-the-loop test systems for its autonomous aircraft avionics. You will design test architectures, build fixtures and interfaces, write automation, and run real hardware through realistic operating conditions to help engineers find problems earlier.

Qualifications

• Experience developing HIL systems or automated hardware testers.
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals with hardware integration skills.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, LabVIEW and test automation tools.
• Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, UART, SPI, or I2C protocols.
• Ability to read schematics and develop test fixtures and harnesses.
• Track record of turning test concepts into reliable tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and bring up HIL systems connecting flight hardware to simulators.
• Develop functional testers, fixtures, harnesses, and automated software.
• Collaborate with avionics, embedded software, and manufacturing teams to define tests.
• Create automated test sequences for nominal operation, fault injection, and recovery scenarios.
• Debug issues using schematics, scopes, analyzers, and bench tools.
• Establish repeatable methods, configuration control, and reporting.
• Improve test coverage, reliability, and production scalability.
