Job summary

Veriipro in the United States is seeking an experienced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) engineer to design, develop, and maintain HIL systems for validating embedded controllers in power electronics. You will develop plant models in MATLAB/Simulink to simulate inverter and converter topologies and integrate with real-time platforms such as Opal-RT, dSPACE, and Speedgoat.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of HIL system design, development and real-time simulation.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design.
• Hands-on with real-time platforms such as Opal-RT, dSPACE, Speedgoat.
• Strong understanding of inverter/converter control (IGBT/SCR/SiC).
• Experience testing embedded software for power electronics.
• Familiarity with CAN, SPI, UART, Ethernet protocols.
• Knowledge of HIL architecture, signal conditioning, I/O mapping.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain HIL systems for validation of embedded controllers in power electronics.
• Develop plant models using MATLAB/Simulink to simulate inverter and converter topologies.
• Integrate simulation models with real-time platforms such as Opal-RT, dSPACE, Speedgoat.
• Configure and maintain hardware interfaces, including signal conditioning and I/O mapping.
• Design and execute HIL-based test plans to validate controller software against requirements.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot simulation and embedded software issues, and debug control algorithms.
• Collaborate with controls, embedded software, and system engineering teams to meet project needs.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to real-time execution, fidelity, and hardware integration.
• Maintain HIL system documentation and ensure traceability between software requirements and tests.
• Support continuous improvement of HIL methodologies and validation processes.
