Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing efforts in Atlanta, GA. You will help setup, integrate, and maintain real-time simulation environments linking hardware with software models, with a strong focus on automated tests and test infrastructure.

Spring: ~16 weeks; Summer: ~12 weeks. You will work with flight software teams to enhance test reliability, expand coverage, and support validation of avionics and vehicle systems, gaining hands-on

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++.
• Experience developing scripts, automated tests, or software tools.
• Experience with hardware integrations and embedded computers (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, STM32).
• Familiarity with debugging hardware/software interfaces and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and test Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches and infrastructure.
• Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for flight software and vehicle systems.
• Expand automated test coverage and support regression testing of software updates.
• Perform routine test stand upkeep including hardware configuration and calibration.
• Debug signal, hardware, software, and communication issues across integrated systems.
• Assist in validating vehicle, avionics, and flight deck control systems via automated/manual testing.
• Analyze test results, identify failures, and support root-cause investigations.
• Document test procedures and changes to test infrastructure.
