Job summary

Equiliem is seeking an experienced Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) Engineer in Raleigh, NC to set up, integrate, maintain, and validate HIL test systems supporting power electronics, energy storage, and control systems. The role collaborates across controls, firmware, systems, and hardware teams to develop HIL models, automate testing, and verify products throughout development.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in HIL testing, system validation, or related engineering role.
  • HIL platforms experience, e.g., OPAL-RT, with hardware/software integration.
  • Experience developing automated test scripts using Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot HIL test systems.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain HIL models for system-level testing.
  • Configure HIL environments for power electronics, energy storage, and control systems.
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts to improve coverage and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with controls, firmware, systems, and hardware teams to verify designs.
  • Perform hardware/software integration to ensure reliable HIL operation.
  • Analyze test results and support root-cause investigations.
  • Document test procedures, configurations, results, and findings.
  • Support test automation and HIL infrastructure improvements.
  • Assist with installation, calibration, and maintenance of HIL equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety procedures.
