Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is seeking a Senior Highways Inspection Officer to lead a team of Highway Inspectors and drive inspections, safety, and maintenance across the borough.

You will be responsible for planning inspections, managing workloads, budgets and contractor performance, and delivering high standards of customer service and technical advice to residents and businesses.

Qualifications

Job description

As a Senior Highways Inspection Officer you will report to the Highways Contract and Maintenance Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Highway Inspectors and play a key role in maintaining a safe, reliable and resilient highway network for residents, businesses and visitors across the borough.

Your role will involve:

• Lead and support a team of Highway Inspectors, ensuring inspections, workloads and performance targets are delivered effectively.
• Undertake planned and reactive highway safety inspections, identifying defects and arranging appropriate remedial actions to keep the network safe.
• Manage maintenance activities, contractor performance and budgets, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to a high standard.
• Investigate and respond to customer enquiries, complaints and highway incidents, providing excellent customer service and technical advice.
• Support the Council's statutory duties through effective asset management, highway claims investigations, utility coordination and emergency response activities.

This is a full‑time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £39,526 - £43,613 per annum., Flexible working including a hybrid working pattern for a better work‑life balance.
