Job summary

Portage County Engineer is hiring for a Highway Worker II to operate medium to heavy dump trucks and assorted equipment for maintenance and repair of county roads and bridges. The role is full-time and outdoors, with exposure to wide temperature ranges and job hazards.

Salary is $25.50 per hour with PTO, holidays and health, dental and vision benefits. A valid Ohio CDL Class A license and drug screening are required, with overtime available during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio CDL Class A license required.
• 1–3 years related experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operate medium to heavy dump trucks and light/medium motorized equipment.
• Assist with maintenance, construction and repair of county roads, bridges and culverts.
• Work outdoors in varied weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments.
