Job summary

State of Ohio is seeking a Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) in Muskingum County. The role includes highway maintenance, CDL training if needed, and snow/ice operations, with a schedule from 07:00 AM to 03:30 PM and OCSEA union affiliation.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction (HMW1).
• For HT1: 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment; CDL with tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
• You will attend training to obtain CDL licensure; if not already a licensed CDL holder.
• You will perform highway maintenance activities; including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
• You will perform snow & ice operations.
