Qualifications

• 6 months of Roadway/Highway job related experience as determined by the assigned area’s needs which may include operating motorized vehicles and heavy-duty equipment and maintenance.
• 1 year of job related Roadway/Highway experience as determined by the assigned area’s needs which may include operation of motorized vehicles and heavy-duty equipment and maintenance.
• 2 years of job related Roadway/Highway experience as determined by the assigned area’s needs which may include operation of motorized vehicles and heavy-duty equipment and maintenance.
• 3 years of job related Roadway/Highway experience as determined by the assigned area’s needs which may include operation of motorized vehicles and heavy-duty equipment and maintenance.
• Arizona CDL (Class “A”) permit within 90 days from hire; CDL required within 6 months; various endorsements may be required.
• Registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement for all CDL holders; must register and authorize ADOT to conduct limited queries during employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate motorized vehicles and equipment; perform pavement care and preservation, landscape care and preservation, and roadside shoulder restoration and repairs.
• Perform signing and striping, delivery of equipment and materials, environmental compliance, and vehicle/equipment care.
• Take on scheduling, assigning, and overseeing subordinates work and inspecting work where assigned.
• Meet high level highway operation duties and supervision responsibilities across the Highway Operations Tech levels.
