Job summary

LVI Associates is helping a growing transportation engineering firm recruit a Project Manager to lead roadway and highway projects from pursuit through delivery. The role involves direct client engagement, team coordination, and stewardship of project scope, schedule, and budget.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited), a PE license, and 10+ years of experience in roadway design and project delivery, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Leading transportation and roadway engineering projects while maintaining scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Developing project management plans, execution strategies, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, and technical resources to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Serving as the primary client contact, providing updates, resolving issues, and strengthening relationships.
• Monitoring financial performance, reviewing invoices, preparing progress reports, and participating in reviews.
• Identifying risks, managing change orders and extra work requests as needed.

Project Manager (Transportation/Roadway Engineering)

We are partnered with a growing transportation engineering consulting firm that is seeking a Project Manager to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys leading roadway and highway projects from pursuit through delivery while working directly with public-sector clients. With a strong project backlog and continued growth across transportation infrastructure markets, this role offers significant visibility, leadership responsibility, and long-term career advancement.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

• Leading transportation and roadway engineering projects while maintaining scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Developing project management plans, execution strategies, schedules, and risk mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, and technical resources to achieve high-quality project outcomes.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates, resolving issues, and strengthening long-term relationships.
• Monitoring project financial performance, reviewing invoices, preparing progress reports, and participating in project financial reviews.
• Identifying project risks and opportunities, managing change orders, extra work requests, and task proposals as needed.
• Mentoring project team members through coaching, performance feedback, project debriefs, and ongoing professional development initiatives.

The Project Manager should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of experience developing roadway and highway design plans.
• Proven experience managing engineering projects from planning through completion.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage clients, leadership teams, and project stakeholders.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating subconsultants.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• CAPM or PMP certification.
• Experience working with county, municipal, and state transportation agencies.
• Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and P3 projects.
