Job summary

McFarland Johnson in the Northeast seeks an experienced Highway Project Engineer to join our transportation division, supporting public infrastructure projects with leadership and technical expertise.

You will lead design development, mentor staff, perform QC reviews, and coordinate with public and private clients while contributing to our employee-owned culture and client-focused success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license required.
• 5–10 years of progressive roadway engineering analysis and design experience.
• Experience with State DOTs and municipal projects is a plus.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development of transportation project plans for public infrastructure projects.
• Manage and mentor staff while serving as a task lead.
• Assemble a complete design package or assigned portions of a larger project.
• Perform quality control reviews.
• Attend and lead meetings with public and/or private clients.
• Represent MJ at industry and professional society events.
