Do you have experience operating motorized equipment and enjoy being outside? If so, the Monroe County Highway Department might have the job for you! We are hiring full-time Operations Assistants. Successful candidates will have the ability to operate dump trucks, tractor mowers, hand‑held power equipment, etc., under varying climatic conditions and must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Wisconsin Commercial Driver's License, minimum Class B at time of application, is preferred or must be obtained within six months of hire. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired will also be considered.

Our Operations Assistant operates motorized equipment in the maintenance, repair and construction of highways and rights‑of‑ways.

Starting salary for this position is $21.09/hr. Considerable overtime may be required, especially during the winter months’ snow events.
