Job summary

The New Mexico Department of Transportation seeks an Associate Highway Maintenance Worker to maintain US and New Mexico highways.

The role involves operating light to medium equipment to ensure safe and efficient roadways and will involve outdoor fieldwork in varying weather Ideal candidate has some experience repairing fencing and road maintenance, holds a valid driver's license and a Class B CDL within one year of hire, and must pass a pre-employment drug test as part of a safety sensitive

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license and a valid Class B CDL (or equivalent) within one year of hire.
• Successful completion of a demonstrated abilities test with a 65% or better.
• Position designated as safety sensitive; subject to federal/state drug testing and pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain US and New Mexico highways.

• Interact with the public and support highway maintenance operations.
