Job summary

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) seeks a Highway Maintenance Worker for the Ramah district to operate medium to heavy-duty equipment and maintain highways for public safety.

Ideal candidates will have a CDL Class A with Tanker Endorsement and at least 6 months of road-maintenance experience; be able to perform paving and snow removal; and be willing to travel statewide as needed. This is a safety-sensitive position with pre-employment testing.

Qualifications

  • 6 months of experience maintaining roads and operating heavy equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a Class A CDL (Tanker Endorsement desired).
  • Within 1 year of hire, obtain a Class B CDL if not already held.

Responsibilities

  • Operate medium to heavy-duty equipment to maintain highways and roadways.
  • Perform paving and snow removal operations on roadways.
  • Work across the Ramah district and respond to weather-related events as needed.
