Who You Are:

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Technician I to perform maintenance support for local roadways and highways. Join our team and grow with us as we provide best in-class services that help clients solve their most complex challenges!

What You’ll Do:

• Perform landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, herbicide and fertilizer application, weed control, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, tree trimming, and pruning.
• Clean and grade ditches, stormwater drainage structures, highway road shoulders, slopes.
• Perform general maintenance duties such as fence repair, sign repair and replacement, and litter and debris removal.
• Repair and replace guardrail components and attenuators.
• Perform concrete structural repair to sidewalks and bridges or overpasses.
• Fill and patch asphalt pavement potholes and distresses.
• Perform Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) / temporary traffic control.
• Provide after-hours emergency incident response during scheduled on-call rotation.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles or equipment.
• Make minor low-voltage lighting and electrical repairs.
• Operate a variety of mechanical equipment such as bed edgers, commercial mowers (z-turns and bush hogs), tractors, mini-excavators, skid steers, gators, blowers, dump trailers, chain saws, line trimmers, forklifts, and more.
• Drive company trucks, towing trailers and rolling arrow boards if necessary.
• Log maintenance work-order information and checklists manually and electronically.
• Load and unload equipment, supplies, tools, and material.
• Use all equipment safely.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You’ll Bring:

• 18+ years of age.
• Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work along local roadways, interstates, and highways with passing traffic.
• Obtain MOT certification (training paid for by the company).
• Valid Driver's License.
• Successful results of pre-employment screenings including background check, MVR, and drug screen.
• Comply with company drug and alcohol policies.
• Authorized to work in the US or will be by the start date.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in roadway operations, construction, utilities, or landscaping.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• MOT Certified.
• Agricultural Pesticide Applicator’s License.
• Ability to drive manual transmission.
• CDL A or B license.

Location Requirements:

This position is primarily onsite in Holly Hill, FL.

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $16 per hour.

Shift and Hours:

40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with one on-call week every 4-5 weeks, including overnight hours as needed. Overtime may be required.
