Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. in Waco, Texas is seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Technician to perform highway maintenance, signs, guardrail and drainage tasks across day, mid, and night shifts. You will operate and maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

The role requires physical capability, a valid driver’s license, and ability to work in varying weather. Bilingual ability preferred but not required; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Must have 2+ years related roadway maintenance experience.
• Experience with sign, guardrail and drainage tasks preferred.
• MOT traffic control certification/courses required or in progress.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record essential.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Position summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform advanced maintenance operations in Waco, Texas during the day shift, mid shift, and night shift. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, signs, guardrail and/or drainage and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Required Experience:

• Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand tools
• Air compressor operations familiarity
• Construction or Roadway maintenance experience
• Guardrail and Sign installation experience
• Concrete forming/repair experience
• MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
• Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
• Minimum 2 years of related experience
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Clean driving record is essential
• Must pass criminal background check
• Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required
• CDL License a plus

• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule:

Full time; Day, Mid and Night shift available. Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
