Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Technician with a CDL license to perform maintenance operations in the Porter, Texas area. Must have heavy equipment experience and the ability to operate multiple machines.

The role includes a day to night shift schedule with weather event readiness, and opportunities for extensive training, safety PPE, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• CDL license required.
• Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, and various small hand tools.
• Air compressor operations familiarity.
• Heavy equipment experience.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Construction or roadway maintenance experience.
• Guardrail and sign installation experience.
• Concrete forming/repair experience.
• MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses).
• Wheel loader, skidsteer, forklift, asphalt roller, etc operator.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance tasks in Porter, Texas area.
• Operate wheel loader, skid steer, forklift, asphalt roller and related equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use PPE as required.
• Assist with guardrail and sign installation and road maintenance work.

Required Experience:

• CDLMust have a valid license

Preferred Experience:

• Roadway maintenance experience


• Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED


• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)


• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations


• Carry out simple arithmetic functions


• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job


• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology


• Ability to use smart phone and applications


• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule


• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions


• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds


• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule:

Full time; Day, Mid and Night shift available. Must be able to work weather events such as snow,ice, and floods.
