State of Colorado’s Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist in NE Denver, CO. If you have a Colorado Class A or B CDL and enjoy safety, travel, and hands‑on repair, this role offers frontline highway maintenance work, on-call duties, and teamwork in diverse weather conditions.

Base pay is $53,940–$54,000 annually with a housing stipend of $12,000 per year, totaling about $65,940.

Qualifications

• Two years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with no restriction on air brakes.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and maintaining roadways.
• Operate heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, and tractors.
• Mow grass and weeds and remove debris from roadways and culverts.
• Install and repair guardrails, signs, and pavement markings.
• Respond to emergencies and work overtime as required.
• Maintain equipment and follow safety protocols.
