The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a full-time Equipment Operator/Truck Driver for Lexington Maintenance. You will operate a 5 yard dump truck to haul materials, perform routine truck maintenance, and assist crews with pothole patching, drainage, and traffic control.

A valid license is required, with CDL Class A to be obtained within six months. You may be asked to work overtime or during hazardous weather events.

Qualifications

• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.

Responsabilités

• Operates a 5 yard dump truck to haul pipe, debris, signs, and equipment to and from job sites.
• Picks up materials from vendors and secures loads (tarps, cleanup around truck).
• Performs preventive maintenance on the truck and keeps records.
• Patch potholes with emulsion, stone, hot or cold mix; patch shoulders and ditches for drainage.
• Place and manage traffic signs per SCMUTCD; flag traffic in high/low-volume areas.
• Assist with hazmat-style emergencies and hazardous weather events; snow plowing and sanding as needed.
• Work with crews to install sideline, crossline, and driveway pipe; clear right-of-way.
