The position emphasizes safety, reliability, and collaboration with internal and external partners, including planning, scheduling, and implementing maintenance programs to keep roadways in good condition.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience leading highway maintenance crews.
• Experience operating heavy equipment used in road maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety practices in roadside work and traffic management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew in day-to-day highway maintenance operations, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Mentor and train personnel in equipment usage, safety, highway maintenance, and public relations.
• Coordinate equipment and personnel with fellow crews; arrange parts and rental of vendor-owned equipment; prepare estimates.
• Maintain daily records and enter maintenance activities in computerized systems.
• Perform pavement, drainage, erosion repair, signage, and guardrail maintenance.
