Job summary

The Illinois Department of Transportation seeks Highway Maintainer for Lee County - Traffic Operations. The role involves maintaining roads, bridges, and related structures in a demanding outdoor environment.

CDL Class A with X or N endorsements is required, along with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. Applicants must have at least a high school diploma, one year of driving experience without incidents, and be prepared for a pre-employment background check and DOT-compliant

Qualifications

• Requires four years of high school or equivalent.
• Requires Class A CDL with X or N endorsements and no airbrake restrictions.
• Requires one year of driving experience immediately preceding appointment with no incidents.

Responsibilities

• Install signs and barricades and complete daily work orders.
• Operate CDL Class A vehicles and maintain traffic signs and signals.
• Perform snow and ice removal and spread salt and sand during winter conditions.
• Maintain traffic signals and luminaires and participate in special pavement projects.
