Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks a full-time Highway Engineer to join our New Jersey operations in Pleasantville. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team on projects involving roads, bridges, intersections, and complete streets.

Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience, with flexible work schedules that may include time in the office and remote work as needed. The ideal candidate holds a NJ-licensed PE, a BS in Civil Engineering, and experience with NJDOT projects,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey required.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D software.
  • Experience with public agency clients, especially NJDOT.

Responsibilities

  • Create plans, specifications, and estimates for New Jersey transportation projects.
  • Develop plans from concept to final contract documents with 3-D modeling and alignments.
  • Prepare temporary traffic control and construction staging plans.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Create plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects for public agencies and municipalities in New Jersey
  • Develop plans from conceptual design to final contract documents, including 3-D modeling, horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, grading, drainage design, and utility relocations
  • Utilize construction understanding to develop temporary traffic control and construction staging plans
What You Bring to the Table
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • PE in NJ is required
  • Proficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D software
  • Experience with public agency clients, particularly NJDOT
Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
