Job summary

HDR's Transportation Group in Madison, Wisconsin seeks a roadway engineer to lead engineering design on highway projects and mentor junior staff. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, supervise CAD designers, and prepare detailed roadway designs.

Preferred candidates have PE licensure and hands-on experience with Civil3D, OpenRoads Designer, InfraWorks, and Bentley ConceptStation, plus strong MS Office skills and communication capabilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
• Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized by the licensing board for the position location.
• Hands‑on experience with Highway and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation, OpenRoads Designer, Autodesk InfraWorks, and Civil3D.
• MS Office knowledge.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans.
• Commitment to active participation in the employee‑owned culture.
