In the role of Highway EIT/Designer, you'll be expected to:
  1. Collaborate with project engineers on urban and rural roadway design projects.
  2. Handle responsibilities related to alignment, profile, geometrics, drainage, and develop plans and estimates.
  3. Assist in creating and submitting technical reports, specifications, and calculations.
  4. Communicate and coordinate with utility companies and project teams regarding design, schedule, and standards.
  5. Maintain accurate records of utility coordination efforts and documentation.
  6. Develop and coordinate utility agreements and memoranda of understanding.
  7. Review project plans for utility conflicts and evaluate mitigation options.
  8. Prepare utility reports and project-specific data.
  9. Draft specifications and contract documents.
  10. Participate in project coordination meetings.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Candidates without an EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator role with the expectation to obtain EIT for career advancement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MicroStation, and/or Open Roads.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Preference for local candidates.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD; experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation, Open Roads Designer, Autodesk InfraWorks, and Civil 3D.
