CDM Smith is seeking a Task Leader to manage highway design projects across New England, with hands-on work and leadership growth. The role supports concep­t through PS&E while guiding junior engineers and coordinating with project teams.

The position can be based in Boston, MA; East Hartford, CT; or Manchester, NH, offering hybrid work flexibility and opportunities to advance to Senior Task Leader or Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline is required.
• PE license is preferred or required depending on state.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of highway design tasks from concept through PS&E.
• Develop and review roadway alignments, design criteria, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Provide day-to-day technical oversight to ensure quality, schedule, and budget.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with PMs and Project Leaders on DOT projects.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state, and local standards; sign/seal documents.
• Perform site reviews and field studies for constructible designs.
• Support proposal and task order efforts including scope development and technical review.
