Job summary

The State of Indiana, specifically INDOT, is seeking qualified individuals for Highway Technician roles across the Crwafordsville District. The position emphasizes safety, material testing, plan interpretation, and daily reporting on construction activities, with additional winter operation responsibilities and potential for progression through the Technician program.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or obtain one within 90 days of employment.
• Must pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local highway guidelines, laws and regulations, and INDOT procedures.

Responsibilities

• Comply with INDOT safety policies and procedures.
• Operate highway maintenance/traffic equipment to maintain highways and rights-of-way.
• Inspect and report on work to supervisors; coordinate with contractors and INDOT personnel.
• Perform winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Will require physical agility, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
