Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking Transportation Construction Inspector to support highway project sites in Cape May, New Jersey. This full-time role focuses on inspecting materials, reading plans, and ensuring compliance with specifications for safe, quality roadway construction.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, fluency in English, and the ability to pass background checks; civil engineering education is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Education/training in civil engineering, construction technology or related field preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently.
• Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.
• Valid driver's license with own transportation.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials used by contractors on highway construction on-site and document compliance with specifications
• Inspect various phases of contractor work to ensure proper highway construction
• Read and interpret construction plans for structures, bridges and roadways with an understanding of construction specifications, engineering tables and reference materials
• Perform tests for specification compliance
• Document pay quantities for monthly and final estimates
