Job summary

The Thrasher Group in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Highway Construction Inspector to ensure quality and compliance on state and local roadway projects. You will monitor workmanship on bridges and roads and prepare field reports daily.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, leadership, and familiarity with ODOT plans; applicable certifications (ODOT Inspector 2, Structure Inspector) are preferred. This is a site-based role with opportunities to grow within our Transportation team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• ODOT certifications such as Project Inspector 2 and Project Structure Inspector are preferred.
• Experience on highway construction projects is preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
• Proficiency with construction software like Bluebeam and AASHTOWare is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily field reports.
• Monitor progress and provide updates to project managers.
• Inspect roadway, bridge, and related infrastructure per plans.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Inspect materials and installation methods for compliance.
• Identify deviations and report to project managers.
