Job summary

The Thrasher Group is seeking a Highway Construction Inspector to join our Transportation team, focusing on quality control for highway projects across Ohio. You will verify compliance with ODOT plans and specifications, inspect roadways, bridges, and related infrastructure, and communicate findings to project managers.

Qualifications include ODOT prequalifications, ACI and Soil/Aggregate inspector preferences, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• ODOT prequalification/certifications such as Project Inspector 2 and Project Structure Inspector.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I and Soil and Aggregate Inspector are highly desired.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead a team and collaborate with project managers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily field reports.
• Monitor the progress of construction projects and provide updates to project managers.
• Inspect roadway, bridge, and related infrastructure projects for compliance with plans and specs.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Inspect materials and installation methods for compliance with approved plans.
• Identify and report deviations from plans or specs to project managers.
