Qualifications

• 2-4 years of progressive work experience in Construction and Field Surveying (increasing responsibilities)
• Experience with surveys, testing, and inspections on highway projects preferred
• Knowledge of project coordination and monitoring, and construction methods
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specs and communicate with contractors

Responsibilities

• Perform surveys, testing, and inspections on preliminary designs and construction of highway projects
• Observe, monitor, and oversee highway construction by contractors
• Field test materials and ensure work meets specifications
• Document pay quantities and prepare final contract documents
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and work crews
• Prepare and update reports and tender documents
• Support District Land Surveyor and district administration
• Check preliminary plans for errors and potential issues
