Job summary

Hanover County Government seeks a Project Manager to lead highway transportation improvement projects from initiation through completion, coordinating design with consultants, public agencies, and the public.

The role requires a civil engineering or related degree and at least one year of management experience in engineering design or construction; EIT/PE preferred. Occasional field work and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• 1+ year of public/private sector management in design or construction; EIT/PE preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage development and delivery of highway transportation improvement projects.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors and specialists for CIP projects.
• Coordinate with local, state and federal agencies; prepare reports/presentations.
• Interact with the public including information meetings and hearings.
• Manage project budgets and process invoices for payment.
• Assist the Traffic Engineer as needed.
