Job summary

APAC Alabama, Inc., a CRH company, seeks an Asphalt Roller Operator to safely and efficiently compact asphalt, soils, and aggregate on heavy highway projects. The job requires knowledge of rolling patterns and the ability to read grades and measurements, with physical capability to lift 30 pounds and pass a physical exam.

Qualifications

• Experience operating an Asphalt Roller on road construction projects preferred.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of asphalt and aggregate characteristics.
• Knowledge of rolling patterns.
• Familiarity with vibrating frequencies in relation to depth.
• Ability to follow grades and project layouts.
• Must be able to repetitively lift 30 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Capable of passing required physical examination.
• Knowledge of equipment and their uses.
• Understand and apply basic mathematical skills.
• Read a tape measure and take basic measurements.

Responsibilities

• Operate Asphalt Roller/compactors to meet compaction specifications on heavy highway projects.
• Ensure safe and efficient equipment operation and adherence to site procedures.
• Keep accurate records of compaction results and equipment performance.
• Maintain reliable attendance and a positive attitude with focus on safety.
