Kendall Hunt Publishing Company in Dubuque, Iowa is seeking Sales Interns for its Higher Education division to develop and improve sales skills, while building long-term relationships with authors. This paid internship starts Summer 2027, with a flexible schedule and no prior sales or publishing experience required.

The role offers the chance to work directly with editors to plan your week, generate leads, recruit professors as authors, manage CRM notes, and support contracts and production

• Plan your week with a Managing Editor and Acquisitions Editors.
• Assist with meetings, identify opportunities, and recruit professors to become authors.
• Generate leads for outside sales through bookstore contacts, author referrals and cold calling.
• Proactively seek referrals for additional authors and adopters.
• Manage sales relationships with assigned authors, including up-selling to maximize sales.
• Initiate and manage revision and reprint processes for assigned authors.
• Coordinate contracts and production processes for revisions.
• Maintain CRM notes and next steps for all prospects and publications.
