Job summary

The Auditor of State’s Office seeks a Quality Assurance and Technical Specialist 1 (QATS) with higher education financial administration experience to join the Center for Audit Excellence (CFAE). The role develops and refines audit procedures for colleges and universities across Ohio and provides technical guidance to auditors and government entities.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate core program in accounting, financial, business administration, or public administration.
• Two years of experience in college financial reporting, internal audit at a college/university, or auditing colleges/universities.
• Preferred CPA, CFE, or CGFM certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Ohio College/university audit guidance based on regulations.
• Review government audit work for accuracy and standards.
• Provide technical guidance on accounting, auditing, and compliance matters.
• Research complex issues and translate standards into audit guidance.
• Develop audit procedures, manuals, and training resources.
• Perform quality assurance and technical reviews of audits.
• Communicate guidance to auditors and government officials.
• Collaborate with audit teams to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor compliance with professional standards and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
