Job summary

Ferrilli, a higher-education IT services firm, seeks a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead strategic planning, development, and management of IT services and systems across the institution.

The CIO oversees the IT budget, staff, policies, and projects, ensuring alignment with the mission and goals, while fostering collaboration, innovation, and adherence to governance, security, and service delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 10+ years of progressive IT leadership and management experience in higher education or similar complex environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in IT strategic planning, budgeting, governance, security, and service delivery.
• Strong technical skills in IT infrastructure, systems, applications, and services, plus familiarity with emerging IT trends and technologies.
• Experience with Higher Ed ERP systems, specifically Ellucian Colleague.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with diverse audiences.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving abilities to inspire IT staff and partners.
• High degree of professionalism, integrity, and alignment with the institution's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the IT strategic plan and roadmap in consultation with senior leadership, faculty, staff, and students.
• Manage the IT budget and resources, and optimize allocation of IT assets and services.
• Lead and supervise IT staff with coaching and professional development.
• Establish and maintain IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks; ensure adherence to policies and standards.
• Oversee design, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, systems, applications, and services; ensure reliability, availability, scalability, and security.
• Monitor and evaluate IT services and systems; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Foster communication and collaboration among IT units and other departments; promote innovation and customer service.
• Assess current and future IT needs, trends, and opportunities; implement appropriate solutions.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external vendors and service providers; negotiate SLAs.
