Job summary

Lamar State College Port Arthur is seeking a Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist to collaborate with academic administrative departments and deliver accurate, timely information for decision-making and continuous improvement.

The role requires experience analyzing data in higher education, understanding enrollment trends, student outcomes, and regulatory compliance, and reporting to the Institutional Research and Effectiveness Department. Exempt position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (required).
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in higher education institutional research, data analytics, or business intelligence.
• Demonstrated experience developing reports and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and interpret institutional data to support planning, assessment, and decision-making.
• Develop and maintain Argos reports, dashboards, forms, data blocks, and visualizations using Argos, SQL, and other analytical tools.
• Troubleshoot data discrepancies and reporting issues within Banner and Argos environments.
• Generate ad hoc reports requested by executive leadership, academic departments, and administrative units.
• Ensure data accuracy through validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes.
• Provide training and support to institutional users regarding reports, dashboards, and data interpretation.
