Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Mail Services Trainee training plan.
• One year of work experience demonstrating the ability to perform responsibly and independently.

Responsibilities

• Pick up mail and packages from US Postal Office and package center; average mail count per day is 900 pieces. Bins weigh up to 50 pounds each.
• Date stamp all incoming mail with date received, and sort mail by inmate vs staff to distribute, x-ray, inspect, or scan.
• Receive outgoing mail from staff and inmates, determine most cost-effective method for shipping option, and affix appropriate postage.
• Maintain logs for all incoming and outgoing mail, postage meter, and input inmate postage charges onto the inmate accounts.
