Job summary

The Durban Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking a motivated Line Cook for a part-time position in a fast-paced restaurant. You will prepare and cook menu items to recipe standards, set up and stock the workstation, and help maintain a clean, organized kitchen.

This role requires the ability to work quickly under pressure, stand for long periods, and work nights, weekends, and holidays. You will uphold food safety, quality, and teamwork to ensure consistent, delicious dishes for our guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot environment.
• Attention to detail, consistency, and pride in food quality.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items to recipe specifications and presentation standards
• Set up and stock the workstation with necessary supplies before each shift
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the station and kitchen areas
• Communicate with the kitchen team to ensure proper timing and ticket flow
• Assist with prep, storage, and rotation of ingredients and supplies
