Job summary

Big Grove Brewery is seeking a Sous Chef to work closely with the Chef de Cuisine to implement culinary vision in a high-volume kitchen. This hands-on leadership role focuses on maintaining hospitality standards while guiding a team to deliver exceptional experiences.

You will be involved in menu development, costing, inventory control, staff training, and ensuring food safety—supporting our culture and core values in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year supervisory/leadership experience in a full-service kitchen.
• Experience creating innovative menus and beer pairings is preferred.
• Strong focus on food safety, sanitation and kitchen organization.

Responsibilities

• Create raving fans of Big Grove through culinary experience.
• Assist in menu planning and development; stay current with culinary trends.
• Assist in menu costing and pricing, analyzing ingredient costs, labor, and margins.
• Manage inventory, reduce waste, and maintain accurate records.
• Lead Back of House staff; train, mentor, and develop team.
• Schedule Back of House to meet labor cost goals and ensure open/close readiness.
• Maintain health code compliance and kitchen cleanliness.
• Collaborate with leadership to achieve location goals and metrics.
