Job summary

Nexans USA is seeking a Materials Test Technician to carry out tests on cable materials and operate specialized test equipment in a high‑voltage manufacturing setting. You will perform material control tests, process tests and routine tests while ensuring accuracy and traceability of results.

Ideal candidates have lab experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with measurement tools like calipers and micrometers, along with good MS Word/Excel skills and the ability to learn systems

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• High School Diploma, technical secondary education preferred.
• Experience working in a laboratory strongly preferred.
• Quality control testing experience within a manufacturing environment highly desired.
• Proficient in usage of hand tools.
• Proficient in usage of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometer, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Ability to quickly learn new software tools including Synergi, TeamCenter, SAP desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and carry out tests on cable materials at various stages of production.
• Operate test equipment.
• Perform 5S tasks and keep documentation.
• Defect analysis and root cause investigations.
• Report results and deviations to Test Engineer and Process Engineers.
