Job summary

City Light & Power, Inc. (CLP) is seeking a qualified Maintenance Electrical Worker to support on-site electrical distribution at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS.

The role is akin to a Journeyman Lineman, involving inspection, repair, and maintenance of high voltage equipment across 5kV, 25kV and 115kV systems, with on-call rotation. The position requires CDL-A, security clearances for a military base, and readiness to work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Lineman with proficiency in the use of all required tools.
• CDL-A required as part of on-site work at a military base.
• Must be able to perform inspection, testing and maintenance of high-voltage equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, testing, repair, maintenance, installation, replacement and switching on transformers, switches and high-voltage gear at 5kV, 25kV, and 115kV levels.
• Experience pulling, repairing, splicing, and terminating 5kV and 25kV cables.
• Install, replace, and troubleshoot streetlights and related infrastructure.
• Consult manuals and schematics to troubleshoot equipment problems; prepare detailed reports of tests and maintenance.
• Respond to on-call emergencies and restore electrical service under varied weather conditions.
