Job summary

Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company is seeking an experienced lineworker to perform routine construction, maintenance and repair on high voltage distribution lines under supervision. The role requires climbing proficiency, knowledge of overhead/underground installations and safe use of bucket trucks.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, 5+ years in electric line work, and be able to respond to outages after hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 or more years experience with electric line construction and maintenance.
• Must have good mathematical, literacy and communications skills.
• Must be willing to respond to storm trouble and other emergencies after hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine construction, maintenance and repair work on high voltage electric distribution lines and equipment under direct supervision of qualified personnel.
• Must be proficient in climbing and handling self on a utility pole.
• Install conductors in overhead and underground systems and use bucket trucks safely.
