Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Six months experience with line construction and maintenance.
• Formal line technician training preferred.
• Good mathematical, literacy and communications skills.
• Willing to respond to storm trouble and emergencies after hours.
• Live within 25 miles of report location or relocate.
• Must have valid driver’s license and CDL A with air brakes endorsement.
• EEI test recommended.

Responsibilities

• Use of standards to perform maintenance and general construction in overhead and underground work.
• Must be proficient in climbing and handling self on a utility pole.
• Basic knowledge in installing conductors in overhead and underground environments.
• Familiar with proper grounding procedures for overhead and underground circuits.
• Proficient in the use of bucket and derrick trucks and safety procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of company safety rules and safe work procedures.
• Proper use and care of equipment, tools and rope.
• Know lines and equipment and patrol when necessary.
• Know proper care of live line tools, handling, and storing protective equipment.
