Job summary
A leading provider of technical services is seeking a Field Service Technician in Madison, WI. This role involves performing electrical testing and maintenance on high voltage substations. Candidates should possess an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent, with a preference for two plus years of experience in the high voltage industry. Comprehensive benefits are available, including health insurance and retirement plans. Candidates must be able to travel up to 25% of the time and work safely in hazardous conditions.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in the high voltage industry preferred.
Must pass pre-employment Drug, Alcohol and Background Checks.
Ability to travel up to 25% with flexibility for overtime.
Responsibilities
Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus and substations.
Troubleshoot and analyze problems; make corrective action recommendations.
Generate technical reports detailing services and corrective actions.
Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of The Power Triangle
Ability to understand one-line and three-line diagrams
Solid understanding of current transformers
Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, ICEA, NETA standards
Proven knowledge of circuit breakers
Basic motor ratings knowledge
Proven communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work safely in hazardous situations
