Ball State University’s Facilities Planning and Management is seeking an Electrician specialized in high voltage work on our campus. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing 600V, 5kV, and 15kV distribution systems, plus emergency lighting, power systems, and conduit installations. This is a full-time, on-campus position with standard first shift hours, offering strong benefits and on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair the university's 600-volt, 5 kV and 15 kV distribution systems as required.
• Switch loads at vault switches, operate load break elbows at transformers, switch internal building loads, and maintain power and control apparatus.
• Comprehend, maintain, and utilize campus distribution maps, one-line diagrams, and control diagrams while performing related functions.
• Troubleshoot, clean, maintain, repair, and operate emergency lighting and power systems, including generators and UPS equipment.
• Measure, install, and terminate conduits and wires for conductors from 18 AWG to 500 KCM, reading diagrams and ensuring safety.
