Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, and repair high voltage systems including switchgear and transformers.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems with diagnostic equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and safety rules.
• Maintain records of inspections and work performed.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and OSHA requirements.

High Voltage Electrician

Schedule: 10 hour schedule, Monday–Thursday

Worksite Location: Ormond Beach, FL

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrician to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair high voltage electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring electrical systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, and repair high voltage systems, including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and distribution equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform diagnostics using specialized testing equipment
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Perform electrical testing and verify components operate as specified
• Execute switching procedures and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements
• Inspect systems, identify faults, and implement corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and work performed
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other departments
• Follow all applicable electrical codes, OSHA requirements, and safety procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or electrical certification preferred
• 3–5 years of high voltage electrical experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, power distribution, and electrical safety
• Experience with high voltage testing and diagnostic equipment, including megohmmeters, hi-pot testers, multimeters, and relay test equipment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical specifications
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in indoor/outdoor environments
