Job summary

Intertek Clean Energy Associates seeks a remote High Voltage Electrical Design Engineer to design, review and optimize electrical systems for community and utility-scale solar and storage projects across the U.S.

Your work includes drafting electrical schematics in AutoCAD, performing load calculations and power system studies with ETAP, ensuring grid compliance and safe interconnection. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in Solar PV and BESS industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software.
• ETAP Power system simulation tools.
• Understanding of PV/BESS inverter, MV, and HV.

• Design: Review and/or create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings for community or utility-scale solar and storage systems, utilizing AutoCAD.
• Technical Analysis: Conduct and review power system studies, load flow analyses, and inverter/MV/HV modelling using ETAP.
• Grid Interconnection: Ensure systems meet utility, TSP, and RTO standards, and safety codes for grid integration.
• Project Support: Provide technical expertise during mechanical, substantial, and final project phases, assist with commissioning tests, and troubleshoot on-site challenges.
• Documentation: Maintain and update technical design drawings, reports, and specifications for all stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

A High Voltage Electrical Engineer in the renewable energy sector designs, develops, and optimizes electrical systems for community and utility‑scale solar and battery storage projects, including project substation/switch yard. Primary responsibilities include preparing and/or reviewing electrical design packages using AutoCAD and ETAP software, performing load calculations, ensuring grid compliance, and overseeing installation and testing to ensure safe and efficient power generation and distribution.

Shift/Schedule:

Core Business Hours (May Vary.) This position will travel up to 25% of the time.

• Project Support: Offer technical expertise during mechanical, substantial, and final project completion phases, assist with commissioning tests, and troubleshoot to resolve on‑site challenges.
• Documentation: Manage and update technical design drawings, reports, and specifications, and maintain comprehensive project documentation for all stakeholders.
