Duke University seeks a High Voltage Electrician Helper to join its electrical distribution team. You will assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of high voltage systems across Duke facilities, gaining hands-on experience while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of high voltage equipment including wiring and switches.
  • Support construction, maintenance, and repair in substations, vaults, poles, and distribution systems.
  • Assist with telephone infrastructure projects including trenching and cable pulling.
  • Support street lighting and traffic signal installation projects.
  • Participate in underground duct system construction and site restoration.
