Job summary

Eon Systems, Inc in San Francisco seeks a Microscopy Technician to operate and maintain the high-throughput imaging pipeline, capturing high-resolution 3D image volumes of expanded brain tissue. You will work closely with our microscopy lead to set up, align, and calibrate instruments, troubleshoot day-to-day issues, and keep the acquisition pipeline organized for weekly targets.

The ideal candidate has a BS or MS with 2+ years operating microscopes in a core facility or high-throughput lab, and

Qualifications

• BS or MS with 2+ years hands-on microscope operation in core facilities or high-throughput labs.
• Experience with fluorescence microscopy and associated instrumentation.
• Familiarity with instrument alignment, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain a multi-step imaging pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Operate microscopes to acquire high‑resolution 3D image volumes of expanded neural tissue.
• Assist in setting up, aligning, calibrating, and troubleshooting new experiments/equipment.
• Handle mounting and storage of samples to protect integrity and throughput.
• Perform routine maintenance and escalate complex instrument problems as needed.
• Maintain imaging pipeline organization, including specimen tracking and issue logging.
