Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in Louisville, KY to support high-volume diagnostic testing. You will assist with sample handling, processing, and analysis under supervision, while upholding strict quality control and safety standards.

This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced laboratory environment, exposure to automated platforms, and opportunities to develop technical lab skills with guidance from senior staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or related field preferred.
• Coursework in laboratory techniques, microbiology, or diagnostic testing is a plus.
• No prior laboratory experience required for entry-level; internships, volunteer work, or academic projects in a laboratory setting will be considered a plus.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, sample preparation, or working with laboratory equipment is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Sample Handling and Processing: Assist in receipt, labeling, and preparation of diagnostic samples for analysis; maintain chain of custody and prepare reagents and supplies.
• Laboratory Support: Maintain lab cleanliness, organize supplies, and assist in routine equipment maintenance; support high-throughput assays.
• Quality Control and Documentation: Follow SOPs; document results and deviations; maintain laboratory records and generate reports.
• High-Throughput Testing Support: Prepare samples and reagents for automated platforms; monitor throughput and assist with basic tests.
• Lab Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols; PPE usage; assist inspections and audits.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate status and issues with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow.
• Training and Development: Participate in on-the-job training and gain experience with laboratory instruments and automated platforms.
